Computer Business Helping New Entrepreneurs
In January of 2006 Jason Turcotte, President of Turcotte Data & Designs, participated in the Pioneer Valley Enterprise Program, a program sponsored by the Donahue Institute at UMass Amherst. The PVEP course teaches start-up business owners the skills needed to successfully operate a business. It is an intensive 20 week program involving both classroom and implementation phases.
Jason was back in class in February, this time not as a student but as a speaker. He was asked back to talk to the current class on several topics including what makes a good website and who needs one, successful business networking tactics and the value of press releases. Turcotte’s business services micro and small businesses throughout Western and Central Massachusetts and helps them solve their technology problems. Their services range from computer and computer network support to website and graphic design. In the year since graduating from the PVEP, Turcotte has dramatically increased his customer base and credits the skills he learned from the course for the increase.
"The program was outstanding and provided me with information that would have taken years to learn." said Turcotte. "I cannot thank the program enough for what the instructors taught me. I couldn't be happier to be asked to come back and speak to the new class. It is the least I can do for the program that gave me so much." added an enthusiastic Turcotte.
